Terms of Service
Last updated: 1 May 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") apply when you access or use Scattershot, including the Scattershot mobile application and related services (the "App"). The App is provided by Twinstack Pty Ltd trading as Scattershot Labs (ABN 51 697 448 114, ACN 697 448 114) ("Scattershot", "we", "our", or "us").
By accessing or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the App. If you use the App on behalf of another person or organisation, you represent that you have authority to accept these Terms on their behalf.
2. Description of Service
Scattershot is a mobile application that helps users track their Magic: The Gathering card collections, view card information and prices, and analyse portfolio value over time. Some features may require an account, an active internet connection, or an active paid subscription.
We may update, improve, suspend, or discontinue parts of the App from time to time. Where a change materially affects a paid subscription feature, we will handle that change in accordance with these Terms, the applicable app store rules, and applicable law.
3. User Accounts
- You must provide accurate and complete information when creating or using an account.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
- You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account, except to the extent caused by our breach of these Terms or applicable law.
- If you are under 15, you should use the App only with the consent and supervision of a parent or guardian.
- You must notify us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without authorisation.
4. Subscriptions and Billing
Scattershot may offer paid subscription plans that provide access to premium features, increased limits, or other paid functionality. The features, billing period, price, currency, trial terms, and any promotional terms for a subscription will be shown in the App Store or Google Play purchase flow before you subscribe.
Subscriptions purchased in the iOS app are processed by Apple through Apple App Store In-App Purchase. Subscriptions purchased in the Android app through Google Play are processed by Google through Google Play Billing. Apple or Google, not Scattershot, will charge your selected payment method, issue receipts, handle applicable taxes where required by their platform rules, and manage the billing relationship for those purchases.
Unless the purchase flow states otherwise, subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period until cancelled. By starting a subscription, you authorise Apple or Google, as applicable, to charge your account for each renewal at the then-current price shown or notified through the relevant platform.
If a subscription includes a free trial, discounted period, or promotional offer, the offer terms shown during the platform purchase flow apply. Unless you cancel before the trial or promotional period ends, the subscription may convert to a paid auto-renewing subscription.
5. Cancellations, Refunds, and Failed Payments
You can cancel an Apple-billed subscription through your Apple Account subscription settings. You can cancel a Google Play-billed subscription through your Google Play subscriptions settings. Deleting the App or stopping use of the App does not cancel a subscription.
If you cancel, your subscription will usually continue until the end of the current paid billing period, unless Apple or Google applies a different outcome under its policies or applicable law. After cancellation takes effect, you may lose access to paid features.
Refund requests for App Store purchases must be submitted to Apple, and refund requests for Google Play purchases must be submitted to Google Play, unless the relevant platform directs you otherwise. Platform refund decisions are made under the applicable platform policies and applicable law. We can assist with support enquiries, but we may not be able to issue or control refunds for purchases processed by Apple or Google.
If a payment fails, Apple or Google may retry billing, place the subscription into a grace period or billing retry state, cancel the subscription, or otherwise manage access under its platform rules. Nothing in this section limits any refund, cancellation, chargeback, or consumer guarantee rights you may have under laws that cannot be excluded.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the App for any unlawful, misleading, harmful, or fraudulent purpose.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the App, user accounts, or related systems.
- Interfere with, disrupt, overload, or degrade the App's functionality, security, or availability.
- Scrape, harvest, copy, or collect data from the App except as permitted by the App's normal functionality or with our permission.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive source code from the App except to the extent such restriction is prohibited by law.
- Use the App to infringe any third party's intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or other rights.
- Upload or enter content that is unlawful, abusive, defamatory, infringing, or malicious.
7. Intellectual Property Disclaimer
Scattershot is unofficial Fan Content permitted under the Fan Content Policy of Wizards of the Coast.

8. Card and Price Data Disclaimer
Card prices and portfolio values displayed in the App are sourced from third-party providers such as Scryfall and are provided for general informational purposes only. Scattershot does not provide financial, investment, tax, valuation, trading, or other professional advice. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, availability, or timeliness of price data. Prices may be delayed, incomplete, vendor-specific, or different from prices available elsewhere. Collectibles markets can be illiquid and volatile. Do not rely solely on the App for buying, selling, tax, insurance, or valuation decisions.
9. Third-Party Services and App Stores
The App integrates with third-party services, including Scryfall for card data. Your use of third-party services may be subject to their own terms, policies, and technical availability.
If you downloaded the App from the Apple App Store, Apple is not responsible for the App or its content, maintenance, support, warranty, claims, or compliance, except to the extent Apple has obligations under its own terms or applicable law.
If you downloaded the App from Google Play, Google is not responsible for the App or its content, maintenance, support, warranty, claims, or compliance, except to the extent Google has obligations under its own terms or applicable law.
10. Consumer Rights and Guarantees
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, remedy, warranty, condition, or other protection under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot be excluded, restricted, or modified by agreement.
For Australian consumers, our services come with guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law, including that services will be provided with due care and skill, will be fit for any disclosed purpose, and will be supplied within a reasonable time where no time is set.
If we fail to comply with a non-excludable consumer guarantee, you may be entitled to remedies under applicable law. Where the law permits us to limit our liability for a failure to comply with a consumer guarantee relating to services, our liability is limited, at our option, to supplying the services again or paying the cost of having the services supplied again.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive loss or damage, or for loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, data, opportunity, or anticipated savings, arising out of or in connection with the App or these Terms.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for claims arising out of or in connection with the App or these Terms is limited to the amount you paid to us, through Apple or Google, for your Scattershot subscription in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
The limits in this section do not apply to liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability arising under non-excludable consumer guarantees, fraud, wilful misconduct, or any other liability that applicable law does not permit us to limit.
12. Termination and Suspension
You may stop using the App at any time. Stopping use of the App does not automatically cancel an active subscription; you must cancel through Apple or Google as described above.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the App immediately if we reasonably believe this is necessary to address abuse, security risks, unlawful conduct, breach of these Terms, non-payment or subscription expiry, or risks to the integrity, availability, or security of the App.
In other cases, we will provide reasonable notice where practicable. Upon termination, your right to use the App will cease, but sections that by their nature should continue will continue, including intellectual property, disclaimers, consumer rights, limitation of liability, governing law, and payment obligations already incurred.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time by posting the updated version on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Where a change is material, we will take reasonable steps to notify you, such as through the App or by email where available.
Changes will not reduce your rights for a current paid subscription period unless required by law, required by Apple or Google platform rules, or reasonably necessary for security, legal, or operational reasons. If you do not agree to updated Terms, you should stop using the App and cancel any active subscription through Apple or Google.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. You and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales and the Commonwealth of Australia. This section does not limit any mandatory rights you have under the consumer protection laws of your country or region.
